On Houseplants and People

it was only recently that i discovered that houseplants, like people, have specific
     individual needs

a fiddle leaf fig, an aloe, and a philodendron each require their own mix of sunlight
     and water
they may be similar, but never exactly like the other

the only real difference between a person and a houseplant is that the houseplant is
     packaged with a tiny little pamphlet that explains, ever so easily, how to make it
          happy

if only people came with these… 

we have our words, which is fine and well,
     but we rarely seem to use them
even in the off chance you meet someone, or even are someone, who is adept at
     conveying their desires
they never seem to be as simple as:

     low light
     high humidity
     water every 1-2 weeks


but my houseplant died last week

so i guess it doesn’t even matter
